The Area
Barmston is a quiet rural village on the East Yorkshire coast. Long, empty beaches are on the doorstep, the seaside resort of Bridlington is a short drive away, and the rolling Yorkshire Wolds lie just inland.
Barmston beach
The beach is about a ten-minute walk from the cottage, a long stretch of sand that’s often wonderfully quiet, with the coastal path running alongside. It’s perfect for dog walks at any time of year.
This is a naturally changing coastline, so the paths down to the sand can vary from season to season, and some are uneven. Ask Janet & Steve for the best route when you arrive.
Bridlington & the coast
Bridlington is a short drive south, with sandy beaches, a promenade, a harbour and plenty to fill a rainy afternoon. Further along the coast, Flamborough Head and the seabird cliffs at Bempton make brilliant days out, and boat trips run from Bridlington harbour along the coast.
The Yorkshire Wolds
Head inland for rolling chalk hills, quiet lanes, pretty villages and country pubs. Guests love the area for walking and cycling, and it’s a peaceful contrast to the coast.

Shops
There’s a shop by the caravan park in the village, open from April to October. Out of season, Bridlington’s supermarkets are a short drive away, so it’s worth picking up supplies on your way in.
Getting here
From the A165 Bridlington Road, turn onto Sands Lane towards Barmston. Continue through the village and after about ¾ mile turn right onto Southfield Lane. The courtyard entrance is the first on the left, with off-road parking for two cars.
